Are Home Prices Really Rising?

By November 21, 2019 No Comments

According to the National Association of Realtors, the median sales price of existing homes sold in the United States, in June of 2019, was $285,700, which was a record price.

Back in July of 2006, the median sales price of existing homes was $230,000,

However, when we factor in inflation, the median sales price back in 2006 was actually higher than they were today.  Using the inflation rate over the last 13 years, the equivalent home sale price would be $289,750, in today’s dollars.
