Background

Jake Hagen is an Associate Financial Advisor at Fortress Financial Group, where he helps clients pursue greater financial clarity through personalized investment and retirement planning strategies. With 8 years of experience in the financial services industry, Jake has developed a deep understanding of financial planning, investment management, and tax-efficient strategies.

Jake’s career began in banking, where he spent over six years gaining expertise in retail banking, operations, marketing, business development, and supervision. This foundational experience gave him a well-rounded perspective on financial services, ultimately leading him to pursue a career as a financial advisor. In 2024, he joined Fortress Financial Group, a fee-only fiduciary firm that specializes in long-term financial planning for pre-retirees and healthcare professionals.

Approach

Jake takes pride in simplifying complex financial decisions and helping clients organize and evaluate long-term financial decisions. Whether helping clients manage windfall events, transition employer retirement plans, or prepare for retirement, he uses advanced financial planning tools to create tailored strategies.

Beyond the office

Beyond his professional work, Jake is deeply involved in the Rochester community. He previously served as a board member for the Rochester Public Library Foundation (RPLF) from 2021–2024 and has been the Chair of their Finance Committee since 2023. He has also coached soccer with the Rochester Football Club and actively participates in Chamber events and local volunteer opportunities.

Outside of work, Jake enjoys staying active through running, hiking, golfing, fishing, and playing soccer. A passionate Minnesota sports fan, he follows the Vikings, Twins, Wild, and Timberwolves. He also loves traveling and experiencing new things.
