How much does working with Fortress cost?

We charge a transparent, percentage-based fee on the assets we manage for you — typically ranging from 0.50% to 1.00% depending on your portfolio size. There are no hidden fees, no commissions, and no product sales. You'll always know exactly what you're paying.

During your free strategy session, we'll walk you through exactly what your fee would be.

What does “fee-only fiduciary” actually mean?

It means two important things. Fee-only means we are paid only by you — we don't receive commissions, referral fees, or kickbacks from any financial product company. Fiduciary means we are legally required to act in your best interest at all times.

Many advisors are held to a lower "suitability" standard, meaning they only need to recommend something "suitable" — not necessarily the best option. We hold ourselves to the highest standard in the industry.

What happens in the first meeting?

It's a relaxed, 30-minute conversation — not a sales pitch. We'll ask about your goals, your biggest financial concerns, and what you'd want from an advisor relationship. We'll share a bit about how we work and, if it seems like a good fit, suggest next steps.

Do I need a minimum amount to work with you?

We work best with individuals and families who have $250,000 or more in investable assets, though we're flexible for the right fit — especially for Mayo Clinic employees who are building toward retirement.
