According to the National Bureau of Statistics, China’s economy grew by 6.1% in 2019, which is the lowest year-over-year growth rate since 1990, or, 29 years.

In comparison, the US year-over-year growth of GDP in 2019 was 2.3%

After Trump took office, his first full year as president the US GDP in 2017 was 2.4%.

And then in 2018 the GDP growth rate was at 2.9%.

However, when we look at the total GDP for each country, in 2019 the US total GDP was $21.4 trillion and China’s overall GDP in 2019 was at 14.3 trillion.

While the US economy grew slower, our total GDP was approximately 50% more than China’s.
